February 11: Sinharaja Rain Forest

We got up at 4:00 am for the 2.5 hour trip to Sinharaja Rain Forest.  We needed to cross a stream on a boat and then take a tuk tuk before walking a bit to the grand entrance.

Our guide was super as he saw animals that we would have never seen on our own. We were up close and personal with snakes, lizards, snails and wasps to name a few.  It was wicked humid and we were both exhausted and hungry after the three and a half hour trek.  Lunch was absolutely delicious with a tasty beet dish as the highlight of many treats.

From here, it was another 2.5 hour drive to Galle where we spent a restful night.  Kimchi went to bed immediately and slept for several hours before waking up to shower.
