February 1: Nuwara Eliya

We had an awesome night’s sleep in our comfy bed.  It was another day and another perfect morning routine for me— coffee and workout before a tasty breakfast at the hotel.

The second half of the day was perfect for Kimchi.  The driver dropped us off at a park and we headed off into a farming village and met some really kind people. One guy gave us two heads of lettuce. We also ran into about 10 women who were going out to pick tea.  We chatted with a large family as we showed them pictures of our Sri Lankan travels.  The highlight for me was our time that we spent at a primary school — so cool.  The place was full of happy kids with a culture of love and caring.

Next, it was off to a fancy Indian restaurant (Grand Indian).  We enjoyed a delicious meal, drank wine & beer, and ended it with a super tasty ice cream treat.  After lunch, we walked around the village and bought a whole chicken expertly prepared by a handsome young man.
