January 24: Goodbye Egypt

It was a full day of traveling as we finally left Cairo airport at 12:40 am after a near breakdown yesterday.  We were both super stressed but recovered nicely thanks to three  super smooth flights from Cairo to Dubai to Maldives and ultimately Columbo.  I slept pretty well on the flights and the food was decent for airline fare.  

Ashley got some amazing pics and videos as we left Maldives.  It was pretty funny — we never left the plane in Maldives airport.  People just sort of cleaned around us as most folks got off at this stop.  And I can see why — super beautiful place.  

Tour agent owner picked us up at the airport — he was a really nice guy.  Our hotel was really clean with lots of young people.  Just dropped off our bags and headed to the Floating Market.  I was exhausted but caught my second wind as we bought a bunch of food including mangos and coconuts.
