December 30: Muttrah Gold Souk
I was able to start the day with a cup of coffee and a one hour CBS workout. We left the hotel at about 9:00 am and headed to the Muttrah Gold Souk.
The market was really cool with wonderful scents, beautiful colors, and soft fabrics. H purchased some scents and perfume for her friends at home.
After the market, it was off to the National Museum. It was just me and H for this one. We spent a solid two hours here — H was really fascinated by this place. Me? Not as much.
From here, we made it to a really cool place for lunch that was modeled after a traditional Omanian fort. The portions were large SBC and the food was outstanding— especially the lamb.
Next, we went back to the hotel to rest before bringing H back to the airport.
Food: A++ (Rozna)
Definitely the best food we had in Oman. Huge portions and delicious food — we especially enjoyed the lamb and fish. The restaurant also offered freshly made Omanian bread with cheese and crushed potato chips.
