December 28: Dimaniyat Island
I was up at 5:30 am so I could workout before heading to the Al Mouj Marina and our half day snorkeling trip at Dimaniyat Island. We bordered the boat at 8:30 sharp but didn’t pull away from the dock until 8:45.
After a 45 minute boat ride, we arrived at our first stop. H controlled the GoPro as we dove into the Gulf of Oman. We saw a ton of colorful fish — the highlight was when Kimchi and I spotted a sea turtle and followed it for about five minutes. Eventually the captain asked us to return to the boat where we ate a sandwich with some chips and a Pepsi.
After this snack, we navigated to the beach where we once again snorkeled. This time I had the GoPro. Kimchi and H disappeared as I made my way around the beautiful coral. I saw some colorful fish again but no luck on sea turtles.
Next, we made our way back to the Marina where Kimchi found a cool spot to have lunch that we purchased from Lulu Hypermarket. We then drove back to the hotel for a quick shower before heading back out to the Royal Opera House.
Only H and I made the trip and we took a ton of pictures. H is a fantastic photographer just like her mom. After our photo session, we had a snack at Fauchon. It was super fancy — we both had a coffee and split some amazing duck sliders and French toast.
