December 26: Back to Wahiba Sands

We definitely had a more relaxed day today.  I woke up early to work out while Kimchi & H stayed in bed.  We motivated ourselves to take a quick trip to Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque.   H really enjoyed the visit and took a gazillion pics.  We actually made it into the mosque and learned that it had the second largest rug and chandelier in the world.

Met Ghassan at the hotel at about noon and made the 2.5 hour drive to Wahiba Sands.  Kimchi and I slept in the back seat.  Upon our arrival, we ate ramon and kimchi on our front deck.  The spicy food made our noses runny.  While H had an awesome camel ride, we chilled at the hotel.

Ghassan joined us for some wine in the desert and then we had dinner.  Following dinner, we enjoyed some Omanian music — I danced to one song

Accommodations: B (Arabian Oryx)

We had a huge room with a king size bed and one twin for H.  It was clean and comfortable but not worth the money (63 OMR).

Food: D (Arabian Oryx)

We ate below average food. The grilled camel and chicken were undercooked and tasted like lighter fluid.  The rest of the buffet was average at best
